PFAS are a group of synthetic chemicals known for their unique properties, including exceptional water and stain repellency, heat resistance, and non-stick characteristics. These attributes have led to their extensive incorporation into a vast array of consumer products over several decades. While beneficial in terms of product performance, the persistence of PFAS in the environment and their potential for bioaccumulation have raised significant health concerns, including links to developmental, immune, hormonal, and cancerous conditions. Consequently, there's growing pressure from regulators and consumers alike to identify, quantify, and ultimately eliminate these "forever chemicals" from the supply chain. Alfa Chemistry provides comprehensive PFAS testing services to help businesses verify compliance, protect consumers, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

The regulatory landscape surrounding PFAS is rapidly evolving, with both the European Union (EU) and the United States (U.S.) taking significant steps to limit PFAS in consumer products:
Navigating these regulations can be challenging. Our laboratory offers expert PFAS testing and consultancy services to help ensure your products meet regional and international regulatory requirements.
Our laboratory accepts samples at various stages of the supply chain, from raw materials and coatings to finished consumer goods.
Our lab is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and follows globally recognized methodologies for PFAS analysis. We offer:
Using combustion ion chromatography (CIC) based on EN 14582 standards. This method involves combusting the sample and analyzing the resulting gases via ion chromatography to determine the total fluorine content, providing a rapid screening tool for potential PFAS presence.
Also based on EN 14582, this method includes aqueous pre-treatment, combustion, and ion chromatography. TOF screening provides a measure of fluorine bound in organic compounds (such as PFAS), giving a clearer indication of PFAS contamination than total fluorine alone.
We offer high-sensitivity testing for individual PFAS compounds through solvent extraction followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) or liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Our advanced detection systems can identify PFAS at levels as low as parts per trillion (ppt), ensuring compliance even with the most stringent regulatory thresholds.
Our comprehensive approach allows clients to assess PFAS content with precision — whether for regulatory compliance, supply chain quality control, or voluntary sustainability goals.
PFAS testing is not just about compliance — it's about building consumer trust and demonstrating environmental responsibility. Whether you are a manufacturer, importer, brand owner, or retailer, our PFAS testing services can help you safeguard your products and your brand. Please contact us to discuss your PFAS testing needs or to request a customized quotation. Together, we can ensure your products meet today's regulatory standards and tomorrow's sustainability goals.
