Office workers and students are in contact with stationery every day. In recent years, there are many recall cases of children's stationery products in the EU and the US. For example, model clays with high lead content present poisoning hazards to children who might eat or chew them. As a professional third-party testing organization that is trusted and recommended by tens of thousands of customers, Alfa Chemistry offers a wide range of testing services for stationery and office supplies to ensure the safety and quality of stationery and meet the standards of EN 71/ASTM/ISO/BS/JIS/GB, REACH, LHAMA, TRA, etc., and to to help you test your products for compliance with international and national standards and regulations.

Mechanical Performance Testing Equipment
These devices can be used to test the strength, hardness, tensile strength, and other parameters of stationery. Equipment such as tension testing machines and hardness testers can provide reliable data and analysis results for manufacturers, ensuring that the quality of stationery meets relevant standards.
Chemical Analysis Testing Equipment
These devices are mainly used to analyze the composition and chemical properties of stationery materials. Equipment such as X-ray diffractometers and gas chromatography-mass spectrometers can detect harmful substances in stationery, ensuring that stationery meets relevant industry standards.
Linear Measurement Equipment
Examples include coordinate measuring machines and projectors. These devices can accurately measure the dimensions, shapes, and other relevant parameters of stationery, providing important support for quality control in the production process.
Others
In addition, there are environmental test chambers, including humidity test chambers and constant temperature and humidity chambers. These devices are mainly used to test the performance of stationery in different environments, such as water resistance and heat resistance. Through these tests, stationery can better meet the needs and usage requirements of users.

Scented stationery, such as scented erasers and pens, are popular among preschool and elementary school children aged 3-12 years. The added scents are intended to mask unpleasant odors or enhance the appeal to children. The volatile constituents in scented stationery include various harmful substances, such as benzene, fragrance allergens, and organic solvents, which may have cumulative negative impacts on children's health.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can cause drowsiness, headaches, and dizziness, and long-term exposure to high concentrations of VOCs may lead to respiratory diseases, reproductive system diseases, and even cancer.
A non-targeted analysis of unknown volatile constituents in scented stationery was conducted using headspace gas chromatography-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry. Volatile compounds released from the samples (22 scented erasers and 17 scented pens) under specific headspace conditions were analyzed. A total of 101 volatile compounds were detected in the scented erasers, and 86 volatile compounds were detected in the scented pens.
