VPhos Pd G4 serves as an advanced Buchwald palladacycle precatalyst that incorporates a new biaryl(dialkyl)phosphine ligand, offering enhanced activity for the reductive coupling of non-aromatic heterocyclic alkyl bromides. By employing a surfactant system consisting of octanoic acid and sodium octanoate, it facilitates Negishi coupling, enabling the synthesis of diverse C(sp3)-C(sp2) cross-coupled products. Identified as a fourth-generation (G4) Buchwald precatalyst, it distinguishes itself from its third-generation (G3) counterparts through the methylation of the amino group on the biphenyl backbone, effectively addressing limitations faced with G3 precatalysts. VPhos Pd G4 exhibits exceptional stability against air, moisture, and heat, along with favorable solubility in common organic solvents, enhancing its practicality in various chemical syntheses.
