It is instrumental in the creation of manganese dioxide nanoparticles that modify conducting polymers. This compound is used as an oxidant in the process of synthesizing poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) nanofilms through vapor phase polymerization, while also playing a role in forming the iron(III) complex of pyridoxal-4-methylthiosemicarbazone. Moreover, it acts as a precursor for developing iron, nitrogen, and sulfur-functionalized carbon electrocatalysts designed for oxygen reduction reactions, as well as serving as an oxidant in the production of poly(thiophene phenylenes) (PThP).
