Application
1,4-Bis(diphenylphosphino)butane-palladium(II) chloride is a yellow solid used primarily as a versatile catalyst in various chemical reactions. Its applications include catalyzing styrene carbonylation, facilitating the coupling of alkyl Grignard reagents with organic halides, and enabling the selective monoalkylation of organic polyhalides. It is also employed in modifying the dihalovinyl moiety of synthetic pyrethroids. Additionally, this compound serves as an effective catalyst for Grignard coupling, enabling regio- and stereoselective monoalkylation and arylation of 1,1-dichloro-1-alkenes. In the synthesis of pyrethroids, it is utilized as a catalyst for the Negishi coupling of (2,2-dihaloethenyl)cyclopropanecarboxylates, highlighting its importance in fine-tuning complex molecular structures in the field of organic synthesis.
