Description

Alkaline protease NZs-BE-A025 is a high-performance alkaline endopeptidase specifically developed for applications in the leather industry. It is particularly effective in lime treatment; when used in conjunction with sulfides and lime, this enzyme efficiently removes hair from hides while preserving the integrity of the grain layer. This results in leather that is supple, full-bodied, and characterized by a clean, smooth grain surface. In addition to improving leather quality, the enzyme offers significant process and environmental advantages. It allows for a substantial reduction—up to 50%—in the consumption of sulphide and lime, thereby lowering chemical load and reducing environmental impact.

Recommended Dosage

This enzyme is primarily applied during the liming stage of leather processing and can also be used synergistically with other conventional chemical agents to enhance overall performance. Its dosage should be carefully adjusted based on the type of raw hide or skin, processing conditions, and desired end-product quality. As a general guideline, the recommended dosage ranges are as follows: for cowhide, 0.05%-0.08%; for pig skin, 0.08%-0.12%; for goat skin, 0.05%-0.08%; and for sheep skin, 0.03%-0.07%. For optimal results, it is advisable to conduct preliminary trials under specific processing conditions.

Storage

The product should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment to preserve its stability and enzymatic activity. It is important to protect the product from moisture, rain, and direct sunlight, as exposure to these conditions may lead to a reduction in enzyme performance. For optimal shelf life, always keep the container tightly sealed when not in use to prevent humidity ingress and contamination.
