Key Benefits

  • High hydrolytic efficiency: This enzyme exhibits outstanding catalytic activity, enabling the rapid cleavage of peptide bonds in protein substrates. Its strong hydrolytic capability accelerates processing, improves substrate breakdown, and contributes to cleaner and more efficient operations across various industrial applications.
  • Wide operating window: Alkaline protease NZs-BE-A023 maintains stable and reliable performance over a broad range of conditions, functioning effectively at temperatures between 20-60 °C and within a pH range of 8.0-12.0. This versatility allows it to adapt to different processing environments while ensuring consistent enzymatic activity and process stability.
  • Sustainable choice: As an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional chemical treatments, this enzyme helps reduce the dependence on harsh chemicals. Its use can significantly lower the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in wastewater, thereby minimizing environmental impact and supporting more sustainable and eco-efficient production processes.

Applications

  • Leather processing: In leather manufacturing, this enzyme is highly effective in soaking, liming/dehairing, and softening operations. It selectively removes non-collagenous proteins, promotes the uniform dispersion of collagen fibers, and enhances fiber openness. As a result, it improves leather softness, smoothness, and overall uniformity, contributing to higher-quality finished products.
  • Detergent applications. In detergent formulations, it efficiently breaks down a wide range of protein-based stains, including blood, food residues, and sweat, into smaller, water-soluble peptides. This enzymatic action significantly enhances stain removal performance, delivering deeper cleaning even under challenging washing conditions.
  • Textile processing. For textile applications, the enzyme plays a key role in pretreatment and scouring processes. It improves fabric permeability, facilitating better penetration of dyes and auxiliaries, and promotes more even dye uptake. This results in enhanced dyeing levelness, and brighter, more vibrant colors in the final textile products.
  • Silk processing: In silk treatment, the enzyme is particularly effective for degumming by selectively removing sericin while preserving the integrity of fibroin fibers. This leads to softer, smoother, and glossier silk.

Recommended Dosage

A recommended dosage range of 0.1-5.0 kg per metric ton of raw material is generally suitable for most applications, offering flexibility to meet varying process requirements. In leather processing, approximately 0.1-1.0 kg per ton of hide is typically applied during soaking, while 0.2-2.0 kg per ton of hide is recommended for liming, dehairing, or softening stages, with adjustments made according to hide type, thickness, and processing duration. For textile applications, especially in alkaline pretreatment or scouring baths, a dosage of 0.2-2.0 kg per ton of fabric is commonly used to ensure efficient removal of protein impurities and improved fabric performance. It is important to note that the optimal dosage should be confirmed through trials, as the most effective application rate will depend on factors such as substrate characteristics, process design, equipment conditions, and the desired outcome.
