Description

Gypenoside XVII is a natural medicinal compound extracted from southern wild grape (Gynostemma pentaphyllum) and belongs to the saponin class of compounds. Southern wild grape is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine and is believed to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immune-regulating properties. As one of the main active ingredients of southern wild grape, Gypenoside XVII has been found to have multiple pharmacological effects, including anti-tumor, anti-diabetic, liver and heart protection. Studies have shown that Gypenoside XVII has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which can help reduce cell damage caused by inflammation and oxidative stress. In addition, it can inhibit the growth and spread of tumor cells and has potential effects in the prevention and treatment of various cancers. In animal experiments, Gypenoside XVII also showed protective effects against diabetes and liver disease.

Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality Gypenoside XVII with the properties showed below:

Properties

  • Neuroprotective Effects

Studies have shown that Gypenoside XVII has neuroprotective effects, particularly in synaptic pruning. Studies conducted on stressed mice have shown that Gypenoside XVII inhibits C3aR-associated synaptic pruning, a process that has been implicated in neurological disorders such as depression. By modulating the complement C3/C3aR/STAT3/cytokine signaling pathway, Gypenoside XVII exhibits potential antidepressant-like effects, providing a new avenue for therapeutic intervention.

  • Anti-inflammatory Properties

Gypenoside XVII has potent anti-inflammatory properties, which can be attributed to its ability to inhibit microglial activation and suppress pro-inflammatory cytokine expression. These anti-inflammatory effects make Gypenoside XVII a promising candidate for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for inflammatory diseases.

  • Complement Regulation

A notable feature of Gypenoside XVII is its ability to modulate the complement system, particularly the C3aR pathway. By modulating complement components and their associated receptors, Gypenoside XVII affects immune responses and plays a key role in maintaining homeostasis.
