Description
(20S)-Protopanaxadiol is a metabolic derivative of the protopanaxadiol ginsenosides extracted from ginseng roots. It is an apoptosis inducer with antitumor effects and is used to induce cytotoxicity in two human glioma cell lines. Protopanaxadiol can be used as a nutritional supplement in health products. It has multiple pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor, and immunity-enhancing effects. Studies have shown that (20S)-Protopanaxadiol can produce anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic effects on tumor cells through multiple pathways, and has potential therapeutic effects on various cancers such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer.
