Benzimidazoles Residue Testing Service
The residues of benzimidazole may endanger the health of consumers. Alfa Chemistry provides you with qualitative and quantitative detection of benzimidazoles residues in food. We can customize different detection schemes according to different detection purposes.
Benzimidazoles (BMZs) belong to the broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low-toxic anti-helminthic veterinary drugs, especially for gastrointestinal nematodes with a strong repellent effect. BMZs have shown teratogenic and mutagenic effects in both experimental and target animals, and can cause harm to humans through the food chain. Benzimidazoles have minimal solubility in water and can be absorbed to some extent in the digestive tract. Although the metabolic cycle of benzimidazole in human body is very short, some metabolites such as hydroxylation products and sulfoxides still have strong embryonic toxicity.
Many countries and organizations have included benzimidazoles in the restricted use list of veterinary drugs, and formulated a series of corresponding maximum residue limits for different animals and their products. The European Union has established its maximum residue limits in animal foods. The limit range is 10~1000 μg/kg.
In order to protect the health of consumers and comply with food import and export inspections, Alfa Chemistry has developed a rapid detection platform suitable for the analysis of Benzimidazoles residues for manufacturers, enterprises, and government organizations. We strictly abide by the quality assurance/quality control plans and regulatory requirements of each country and region to provide you with support. Including but not limited to the following standards and methods: ISO, FDA, EU regulations.

Food Benzimidazoles Residue Testing Platform
Sample preparation method:
- QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe)
- Solid-phase extraction
Sample detection technology:
- Enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA): This method can only be used for screening, not as a confirmation method.
- High performance liquid chromatography - ultraviolet detector (HPLC-UV)
- High performance liquid chromatography - fluorescence detector (HPLC-FLD): Good sensitivity and repeatability. Less affected by the sample matrix.
- Ultra performance liquid chromatography - tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS): Selective reaction monitoring (SRM). Ionization in positive ion mode. Quantification by external standard method.
Acceptable Samples: All food sample and food products.
Turnaround Time: 7-10 working days.
At Alfa Chemistry, our analytical scientists are experienced in benzimidazoles residue testing. After communicating with you about the testing scheme, we will implement it within a quick turnaround time and provide you with an analysis report.
