Application
The Trovitch Mn-Precatalyst serves as a highly effective agent for the hydrosilylation of ketones and esters, offering a versatile tool for chemical synthesis. Developed in collaboration with Ryan Trovitch and his team, this manganese complex, identified as [((Ph2PPr)PDI)Mn], is characterized by its formally zerovalent state and features a phosphine-substituted pyridine diimine (PDI) ligand. The precatalyst can be synthesized through the reduction of (Ph2PPrPDI)MnCl2, and its electronic structure has been thoroughly investigated. Notably, the Trovitch Mn-Precatalyst also facilitates the dihydrosilylation of esters, showcasing its broad applicability in catalysis.
