Tetrabutylammonium phosphate is a white coarse crystalline powder primarily used as an anti-HIV-active nucleoside triphosphate prodrug. Its versatility as a reagent makes it suitable for various studies, including the resolution of disaccharides through reverse-phase ion-pairing HPLC (RPIP-HPLC) and disaccharide analysis of 35S-heparan sulfate (HS). Additionally, it serves as an effective folding buffer for dissolving desalted oligonucleotides and is used in the analysis of tetrasaccharides and 35S-disaccharides by HPLC. It also plays a vital role in preparing monobasic tetrabutylammonium phosphate (TBAP) imprinted polymers. Available as a concentrate for a 6x1 L ready-to-use solution, it can be diluted from approximately 0.3 M to 1 L with HPLC-grade water to achieve a 0.005 M eluent solution. Furthermore, it acts as an anion to investigate the structure, stability, and intramolecular flexibility of a range of azacrown ethers.
