Application
Sodium difluoroheptylazidosulfinate is designed to facilitate the direct attachment of a difluoroalkyl chain with an azide group onto heteroarene structures, primarily for bioconjugation purposes. It operates through a Huisgen cycloaddition, commonly known as a "click" reaction, where the azide portion interacts with a terminal alkyne connected to a functional molecule, such as biomacromolecules. This process enables the formation of a stable covalent bond between a heteroarene and the target molecule, which could include linking a heteroarene-containing drug with an antibody. Developed by the Baran Group, this reagent is among several specifically created for the direct alkylation of heterocycles, broadening the possibilities for chemical modifications in biomedical applications.

Excellent Reagent for Bioconjugation in Research
We used Sodium difluoroheptylazidosulfinate for direct alkylation in our bioconjugation experiments. Its efficiency in Huisgen cycloaddition with terminal alkynes was impressive, facilitating covalent linkage in our heteroarene-based studies.
