Application
(2,4-Pentanedionato)bis(2-phenylpyridine)iridium(III), or Ir(ppy)2(acac), serves as a highly effective material in OLED applications due to its impressive quantum yields. When incorporated into devices with 3,5-Diphenyl-4-(1-naphthyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole (TAZ), it demonstrates outstanding external quantum efficiencies of approximately 19.06%, along with luminous power efficiencies of around 60 lm/W. These results are largely due to its nearly perfect internal phosphorescence efficiency, balanced hole and electron injection, and efficient triplet exciton confinement within the light-emitting layer. Notably, Ir(ppy)2(acac) is utilized in green phosphorescent OLEDs as a dopant or emitter, achieving remarkable brightness levels of 130800 cd/m² at a current density of 1550 mA/cm² (13 V) and maintaining high quantum efficiencies between 15% and 16%.
