Application
Palladium(II) nitrate dihydrate serves as a versatile reactant and catalyst in various chemical processes. It is employed in doping activated carbon to enhance catalytic performance and is pivotal in the catalytic function of hydroxyapatite-supported Pd nanoclusters for the hydrolysis of ammonia-borane. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in the selective hydrogenation of 1-heptyne and naphthalene when supported on the MIL-101 coordination polymer. Furthermore, Palladium(II) nitrate dihydrate is instrumental in preparing platinum-palladium/carbon alloy nanocatalysts for methanol-tolerant oxygen reduction reactions in fuel cells, and in synthesizing Cu-Pd alloy thin films on titanium substrates through co-electrodeposition from nitrate-based electrolytic baths. It is also used in developing palladium catalysts on vertically aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes for microwave-assisted Heck reactions and in creating di-phenyl sulfide-modified Pd/TiO2 catalysts for acetylene hydrogenation.
