Application
Palladium (II) Bromide, a dark red powder, serves a vital role as a palladium coordination complex with significant applications in catalysis. It is widely utilized as a Pd(II) catalyst, particularly in facilitating the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions. Additionally, Palladium(II) Bromide (PdBr2) acts as a source of Pd(0) precatalyst in various coupling reactions and is an effective catalyst for the carbonylative Heck coupling reaction involving aryl bromides and vinyl ethers. Production of PdBr2 involves the reaction of palladium metal with nitric acid (HNO3) and hydrobromic acid (HBr), and it can also be synthesized electrochemically from palladium metal and HBr.
