Application

Nickel(II) oxalate dihydrate, a light green powder, is a versatile compound with significant importance in various fields. It precipitates as a green powder when oxalic acid or alkali-metal oxalate solutions are added to nickel(II) salt solutions. Upon heating in a vacuum, it releases water at 150 ℃ and fully decomposes at 300 ℃, yielding finely divided nickel that is ideal for catalytic applications and the production of nickel carbonyl.
