Application
Molybdenum Telluride, with its unique gray hexagonal structure and availability as a 40μm powder, serves as a highly effective solid lubricant. It is employed with 99.9% purity as a sputtering target to produce lubricant films. As a member of the transition metal dichalcogenides, it belongs to an important class of two-dimensional layered inorganic nanomaterials. These materials have garnered considerable attention because of their physical and chemical properties that vary with thickness. Molybdenum Telluride finds applications across various advanced technologies, including photocatalysis, photovoltaics, gas sensing, lithium-ion batteries, field-effect transistors, and spintronics.
