Application
The purpose of Ir[dFMeppy]2-(4,4'-dCF3bpy)PF6 is to effectively serve as a photocatalyst under a dual catalytic copper/photoredox system to facilitate the trifluoromethylation of alkyl and aryl halides, resulting in excellent yields of alkyl-CF3 and aryl-CF3 compounds. This process showcases broad substrate compatibility and good functional group tolerance, allowing for the facile conversion of 5-membered and 6-membered heteroaryl halides into trifluoromethylheteroarenes under mild conditions. For optimized trifluoromethylation, it is recommended to use this product in conjunction with dMesSCF3 (901466) and supersilanol (902489).
