Application
The purpose of 2,6-Diisopropylphenylimidoneophylidene molybdenum(VI) bis(hexafluoro-t-butoxide), also known as Schrock's Catalyst, is to facilitate the metathesis of ordinary olefins, particularly terminal olefins, and to carry out the ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of norbornene and its derivatives to produce all cis, often isotactic polymers. Moreover, this catalyst is highly effective for the ring-closing of dienes and coupling of terminal olefins. It also excels in cross-metathesis reactions between aliphatic alkenes and 2-vinyl aromatics, providing versatile applications in synthetic chemistry.
