Leveraging the chiral ligand Xylyl-Phanephos, this catalyst exhibits remarkable activity and enantioselectivity. Its use is characterized by mild, room temperature conditions and operates efficiently under low hydrogen pressures of 2-10 bar. The catalyst supports high substrate concentrations up to 40% w/v, allowing for impressive molar substrate-to-catalyst ratios of up to 100,000/1, all while maintaining robust reactivity and enantioselectivity with commercially available substrates and solvents.

Exceptional Catalyst for Asymmetric Hydrogenation

I used Alfa Chemistry's Dichloro[(R)-(-)-4,12-bis(di(3,5-xylyl)phosphino)-[2.2]-paracyclophane][(1S,2S)-(-)-1,2-diphenylethylenediamine]ruthenium(II) catalyst in asymmetric hydrogenation with fantastic results. It allowed mild conditions and high selectivity, improving my research efficiency significantly.
