This burgundy solid is instrumental in oxidative olefination reactions, enabling the cleavage of carbon-carbon bonds in secondary alcohols, and facilitating the ortho C-H olefination of phenol derivatives. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in the oxidative annulation of pyridines and the oxidative ortho-acylation of benzamides with aldehydes through direct functionalization of the sp² C-H bond. The compound is also adept at catalyzing amidation, reductive alkylation, and both regular and chiral hydrogenation reactions.
