Application
Cerium(IV)-zirconium(IV) oxide serves multiple vital functions due to its versatile properties. With a fine -325 mesh and 99.5% purity in a pyrochlore type structure, it is utilized as a wear-resistant medium for grinding and dispersion. This compound plays a significant role in several advanced applications, including serving as a material for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and in the production of body armor. Additionally, it is integral in the manufacturing of catalytic converters, honeycomb structures, precision ceramic parts, abrasive wheels, oxygen sensors, and cutting tools. Known for its use as ceramic steel, it also finds applications in various coating methods like screen printing, dip and spin coating, and atmospheric plasma spraying (APS).
