Application
Cadmium tungstate (CdWO4) serves multiple purposes, including applications in fluorescent paint, X-ray screens, and scintillation counters. This compound, often found as a white or yellowish monoclinic crystal or powder with a purity of 99.9% and a particle size of 10μm or less, is also utilized in the preparation of CdWO4 polymorphs for studying electronic structures and enhancing photocatalytic activities. In addition, it's employed in scintillating bolometers for double beta decay research, and in laser photochemical ablation studies. Despite its versatility and utility in these advanced scientific and industrial applications, it is important to note that cadmium tungstate is highly toxic if inhaled, requiring careful handling and use.
