Application
Barium Zirconate serves multiple purposes due to its unique properties. As a light gray-buff powder, it is insoluble in water and alkalies, and only slightly soluble in acid. Its composition as barium zirconium oxide allows for the development of nano powders that significantly enhance gas sensing capabilities, particularly in detecting ammonia through thick film applications. Furthermore, when doped with copper(II) oxide and yttrium, Barium Zirconate acts as an effective electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells, contributing to improved energy solutions. Additionally, it is instrumental in producing a white silicone rubber compound that can be easily colored, offering robust heat stability up to 500°F, which is valuable for various electronics applications.
