Application

The purpose of [1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-2-imidazolidinylidene]-dichloro(benzylidene)(tricyclohexylphosphine)ruthenium(II), a second-generation Grubbs catalyst, is to serve as an efficient catalyst for various metathesis reactions, including ring-closing metathesis (RCM), cross-metathesis, and ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). This catalyst is particularly valuable in synthesizing trisubstituted olefins with high selectivity and functional group tolerance and can be employed to create coumarins from phenolic compounds through RCM and to cleave secondary (E)-allyl vic-diols into aldehydes.
